Drive Train is the team that builds the part of the robot that drives, which includes the wheels, drive shafts, gears, motors, and the main structure that holds the rest of the mechanics. We are responsible for making sure the robot is mobile, with the correct ratio of speed and bulk. We also make sure the robot doesn’t tip over. Drive train may require simple math, but the main asset you will need is a creative mind, as drive train is all about figuring out problems with out-of-the-box solutions. We work very closely with manipulator, wiring, and programming to make sure the space and weight requirements all work out. So if you have any sense of creativity or you love the mechanics of making things move, join drive train.
