The programming team is responsible for developing the software for the robot. We write the "brains" of the robot that make the motors run based on input from the joysticks. We write the code that makes sured the arm moves. We also make the robot work during the "autonomous" mode. Last year, we had a fully operational autonomous mode throughout the Denver competition. We work closely with all of the build teams, perhaps a little more so with wiring as how they wire things directly effects our code. If you don't have any previous knowledge of programming, that is completely OK, but you will need to be able to commit a significant amount of time to learning with us before build season so that you are ready by the time we're writing code for the robot. Joining the programming team would be a great way to build your skills in computer science, and is a wonderful stepping stone to learning to build computer programs.
